AKSEPWMA CHAIRMAN ENDORSES ISDMA ANNIVERSARY SUMMIT, SAYS OUTSTANDING LEADERS DESERVE CELEBRATION

The Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA), Prince Akpan Ikim, has endorsed the forthcoming Leadership Anniversary Summit of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Media Advocates, ISDMA, describing it as a worthy platform for recognizing and celebrating leaders whose contributions have advanced development.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the leadership of ISDMA in Uyo, Prince Ikim commended the organization for promoting leadership, development, and constructive public engagement across the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

The Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors pledged his support for the summit and urged the group to sustain its efforts in fostering mentorship, leadership succession, and youth development.

“You have a lot of work to do. We must use this platform to project our younger ones and help them grow. The elders should be encouraged to support the younger generation. There must be a deliberate effort to achieve that,” he said.

Prince Ikim further charged the organization to intensify public sensitization on the importance of active participation in the electoral process, stressing that communities are better positioned to attract government attention and development when they demonstrate strong voter turnout.

According to him, the distribution of democratic dividends is often influenced by the level of political participation, urging citizens to always come out and vote during elections.

“People must be sensitized on the need to participate in elections. When citizens come out to vote, they strengthen their voice in governance and position their communities to benefit more from government projects and programmes. Political participation is critical to development,” he stated.

The former Oruk Anam council Boss stressed that celebrating impactful leaders is essential to preserving a culture of excellence and inspiring future generations. He noted that individuals who have distinguished themselves through service, vision, and commitment to development deserve recognition for their contributions to society.

Prince Ikim also called for continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noting that their leadership and development-focused initiatives have continued to positively impact the lives of citizens.

Speaking during the visit, the President of ISDMA, Mr Emma Akpabio maintained that the Leadership Anniversary Summit is aimed at highlighting the developmental gains arising from the collaborative leadership of Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, while providing a platform for constructive discourse on governance, leadership, and public affairs
