The International Coordinator of the Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative and Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Relations, Sir Udo Kerian Akpan, has described the forthcoming Leadership Anniversary Summit of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Media Advocates (ISDMA) as a strategic platform that aligns with the ideals and objectives of the Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative.
Akpan made the remark while receiving a delegation of ISDMA, led by its President, Mr. Emmanuel Akpabio, during a consultation visit ahead of the summit scheduled for July 3, 2026.
Commending ISDMA for conceptualizing the event, he noted that initiatives that promote exemplary leadership, foster social cohesion, and encourage citizens to actively participate in the development of the state deserve broad support and recognition.
“The vision of ISDMA is in tandem with that of the Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative. We remain committed to strengthening unity, promoting development, and advancing the collective aspirations of our people. I commend this initiative and assure the organizers of my full support,” he stated.
He further observed that the summit would provide a valuable opportunity to showcase the benefits of collaborative leadership and highlight the developmental strides recorded under the administration of Governor Umo Eno across Akwa Ibom State.
As part of its stakeholder engagement activities, the ISDMA delegation also visited the Executive Chairman of Ika Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Utibe Nwoko, who endorsed the initiative and pledged support for the event.
Nwoko described the proposed summit as timely and significant, noting that the collaborative leadership and working relationship between Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio have contributed immensely to the peace, stability, and development currently being experienced across Akwa Ibom State.
According to him, celebrating and documenting the achievements of leaders who have positively impacted the lives of the people is essential for inspiring future generations and preserving the state’s development history.
“It is the right thing to do. When leaders are making meaningful impacts on the lives of the people, it is important that their contributions are acknowledged and documented for posterity,” he said.
During the visits, the President of ISDMA, Mr. Emmanuel Akpabio, explained that the Leadership Anniversary Summit was conceived to commemorate three years of purposeful collaboration between Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, while highlighting the developmental gains recorded across the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and Akwa Ibom State at large.

He noted that the summit would bring together key stakeholders, community leaders, media professionals, and development partners to reflect on the achievements of the past three years and chart a course for sustained progress.
The delegation included the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr. Samuel Ayara, and the Secretary of the Committee, Dr. AmanamHillary Umo-Udofia
