HEALTH COMMISSIONER ENDORSES ISDMA, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR LEADERSHIP ANNIVERSARY SUMMIT

…Commends group’s commitment to responsible governance and development

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ekem Emmanuel John, has endorsed the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Media Advocates (ISDMA), describing the vision behind its formation as timely and commendable.

Dr. John also pledged his support for the group’s forthcoming Leadership Anniversary Summit scheduled for July, assuring its leadership of his commitment to the success of the event.

Speaking on Friday, June 12, 2026, while receiving the leadership of ISDMA in his office, Dr. John lauded the group’s dedication to promoting responsible governance, constructive engagement, and inclusive development across the senatorial district.

“The idea and concept are commendable. I have long anticipated an initiative of this nature, and I am pleased to see it become a reality. You have my full support, and I assure you that you will not be disappointed,” he stated.

Earlier, the President of ISDMA, Mr. Emma Akpabio, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for receiving the delegation despite the public holiday, noting that the gesture reflected his goodwill and support for the group’s objectives.

He used the opportunity to brief the Commissioner on the objective of the media advocacy group and the upcoming event slated for July at Ati Annang Secretariat.

The Commissioner was accompanied at the meeting by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Patrick Essiet.

The ISDMA delegation comprised a cross-section of members of the Exco and the Leadership Anniversary Summit Planning Committee, including, Amanam Hillary Umo-Udofia, Imoh Etimudo, Bright George, David Akpan, Ime Jacob, Daniel Edward, Mfonobong Ukpong and Sixtus Tom.
